3rd Annual Grissom JROTC Wounded Warrior 5K (Feb 25)
This race is truly unique and is a family event. You can see the new CH-47 Chinook helicopter land, an Apache helicopter, the Patriot Guard Riders and Vets with Vettes will be present, you can see an EOD Static Display. Dr. Casey Wardynski will serve as our Race Marshal this year.
The race benefits Grissom JROTC which is the largest JROTC group in North Alabama with almost 200 cadets which represents 10% of our student body. The ongoing Wounded Warrior Project will also receive proceeds from this race. This is an organization that provides services and programs to ease the wounded soldier and aid in the transition back to civilian life. They are leading the charge to financially assist families with a wounded soldier when the soldier returns home. Both Grissom JROTC and Wounded Warrior rely on donations for their continued success.
